
Engineering Team Lead – Embedded Software

As the Engineering Team Lead (Embedded Software) for the Sri Lankan R&D hub of Rinstrum Pty Ltd (Australia), I managed and supervised the Embedded Software Engineering Team supporting global product development. In this managerial role, I was responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing engineering activities, ensuring alignment with Rinstrum’s subsidiaries in Australia, Europe, and the United States.
My responsibilities included:
🔹 People & Project Management
- Led, supervised, and mentored embedded software engineers across multiple projects.
- Conducted daily Scrum stand-ups, coordinated sprints with the Product Owner, and ensured on-time delivery of development milestones.
- Directed project planning, task delegation, resource allocation, and workload balancing.
- Coordinated engineering deliverables between the Sri Lankan R&D team and global subsidiaries (Australia, Germany, USA).
🔹 System Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Designed system architectures for customer-specific and internal R&D projects, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and compliance with industry requirements.
- Provided technical direction across firmware, embedded systems, communication interfaces, and automation logic.
- Performed technical reviews, feasibility analysis, and validation of engineering solutions.
🔹 Process, Tools & Infrastructure Improvement
- Upgraded Rinstrum’s internal libraries, build pipelines, and cross-compilation toolchains for Embedded Linux and ARM platforms.
- Standardized internal engineering processes, coding practices, and development workflows.
- Oversaw improvements to deployment environments, package managers, and build systems using GCC and industry-standard tools.
🔹 Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
- Worked closely with Rinstrum Europe GmbH, Rinstrum Inc (USA), and Southern IL Scales Inc to support:
✔ engineering integration
✔ product commissioning
✔ customer deployments
✔ technical escalations - Ensured that global engineering teams remained synchronized on project architecture, firmware updates, and release planning.
